The Role of Teachers in The Formation of Student Manner
The Role of Teachers in The Formation of Student Manner

Education has a central role in shaping individual character, and one of the key actors in this process is the teacher. In this modern era, where moral challenges are increasingly complex, student manners become increasingly important. Manners in general are how we are expected to behave in society, regardless of our environment or who we are with. Good manners matter! It helps us show good character traits and understand boundaries so we can be respectful of others.
To build good manners, students often need a lot of practice at school to improve their social-emotional skills and interactions with others. Teachers are not only required to teach academic subjects, but also to guide students in developing a balanced and responsible personality. Parents and teachers need to work hand in hand to take care of disruptive behaviour. When the time for school arrives, the teacher has the responsibility of teaching and encouraging the child. If difficulties surface then the teacher should bring in the parent. If the problem is over attitude, the teacher should make it clear to the parent and that there should be a change in their attitude to the child.
As a teacher we can teach and give real example to our student to become a well-mannered student by instilling these good manners:
Saying “Thank you” and “Please” are basic manners that all kids should know, teaching saying “Please” when your child asks for something, and “Thank you” when receiving something is an important virtue for kids to learn from an early age.
Saying “I’m sorry”, kids should also be taught how to apologize when they’ve made a mistake. It helps students learn empathy and take responsibility for their actions in any given situation.
Asking permission first, is the importance of asking permission before taking something that doesn’t belong to them.
Eye contact, when using eye contact, point out what you are doing. As students use eye contact, let them know you noticed.
Without rules and regulations, as well as manners, this society wouldn’t be able to function at all. Nobody is allowed to simply do what they want how they want, as much as some people would like.
